What you will be doing

  • Support to deliver key milestones for implementing a robust resilience framework for Barclays Consumer Bank Europe
  • As part of the team, support in providing local and group reporting for Resilience activities at Barclays Consumer Bank Europe
  • Administer Resilience Tools and Resilience documents to update Resilience Information 
  • Gather required information e.g. KRI metrics to gain an understanding of our resilience status and identify potential for improvement
  • Engage with different Senior stakeholders and colleagues across the firm in Operations, Technology, Supplier Management, Commercial to ensure a holistic view of our resilient environment
  • Support the team with gaining a robust understanding of the key processes covering all of our products
  • Collect information from various stakeholders to gain a sound understanding of our actual crisis and resilience activities
  • Identify potential for improvement to ensure robust operational resilience processes
  • Build upon a culture where resilience management is central to the processes that we manage, build and execute
  • Collaborate with operational and project teams to progress the optimisation of manual controls 

 

What we're looking for

  • Candidate must be fluent/bi-lingual (German & English) with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, including presentation skills
  • Ability to take decisions based on data and experience, whilst balancing opportunities and risk
  • Proven stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to influence at senior management levels
  • Sound understanding of risks, impacts and associated mitigations as they relate to the control environment and implementing those into processes within a major retail-banking organisation

 

Skills that will help you in the role

  • Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, great stakeholder management and strong influencing skills
  • Able to thrive in a highly complex operating environment and with a huge variety of tasks and challenges
  • Willing to courageously challenge the status quo and drive change
  • Knowledge of retail banking operations and the financial services industry in general with working knowledge of risks prevalent in this industry sector desirable
  • Formal qualification or experience in Risk Management or Resilience/ Crisis Management desirable
